Dear readers,
A quick note about this newsletter’s schedule. I write best when I’m truly inspired about a topic. When I was self-employed, it was easier to find those topics and time. Now that I’m back to a traditional full-time job, it’s been different. I couldn’t be more pleased with my new work at Pew and am proud of what we’re doing. But there are only so many hours in a day!
As a trained journalist, I’ve always stuck to my deadlines because…YOU HAVE TO! I’ve treated this newsletter the same way.
But I don’t want this thing I love to become a chore because once that happens, my writing suffers for it and I’m not helpful to you.
So going forward, I’m going to do a strange thing—for me—and not have a set day that this newsletter runs. Instead, I will write at least every other week (and sometimes more) about whatever news item I see that gets me going. Please email me if you have thoughts (negative or positive) about this.
Thank you as always for your support in keeping this work going. Every time I start wondering if it really matters whether or not I continue this newsletter, one of you reaches out to say that something I recently wrote was helpful or inspired you in some way.
Yours in service,
P.S. This weekend, it was Pig Day here at the hobby farm! Follow my husband’s Twitter feed @BFFfarmers for regular pics and updates. And lots of posts about rugby…
