The Public Money Pod is now live!
This new podcast looks at the budgets, bonds and even the bureaucrats of state and local governments.
Dear LSS family,
I’m excited to share that the first two episodes of the new Public Money Pod with co-host Justin Marlowe have now dropped! Our guests are former mayor Mark Funkhouser and the Government Finance Officers Association’s Emily Brock.
Upcoming episodes will include discussions on the public workforce crisis, remote work, inflation and interest rates, and so much more. Questions and ideas (and compliments!) can be sent to publicmoneypod@uchicago.edu.
As some of you know, starting a podcast has long been on my list of things I’d like to do someday. But the biggest barrier has been the time it takes to produce one and do all the behind-the-scenes support. Thanks to the University of Chicago’s Center for Municipal Finance, that’s taken care of. What’s more, our three sponsors—the GFOA, Build America Mutual, and Cumberland Advisors—are providing financial support for the production.
I couldn’t have asked for a better way to get into podcasting. Extra thanks to Justin, who came up with this whole idea, and to our producer Eric Geber.
